Manzú + Mägo: Chef Pedro Cajas from Hotel Nantipa (Costa Rica) - Sept. 18

Experience an exclusive 50-seat dinner featuring the celebrated culinary team from Costa Rica's renowned Hotel Nantipa's Manzú restaurant. Chef Pedro Cajas and Chef Mark from Mägo will work together to create a unique multi-course dining experience focusing on seafood from the Pacific and the unique ingredients from Costa Rica’s famed Nicoya Peninsula, one of the world’s five Blue Zones. 

This intimate evening showcases sophisticated Central American flavors and techniques, bringing tropical innovation to Oakland's fine dining scene. Discover the refined side of Costa Rican cuisine through expertly crafted dishes that honor tradition while embracing modern technique.

 We will be offering a beverages representing Costa Rican spirits that can be purchased a la carte or part of our optional beverage pairing.

Pressed zucchini with sea urchin, aji amarillo 

Tostada with buffalo milk, ripe mango and mala

Crispy pejibaye, chile panameño smoked over coffee wood

Seared tuna, crispy wanton, sweet and sour passionfruit

Local trout brushed with  burnt apple  and corazon de palma

Arepa de choclo, trout roe and goat cheese

Beef tongue gallitos, homemade tortillas, green thyme, radishes

Duck leg en cocado, caramelized coconut, pine nuts and yam, wrapped in leaves

Bistec encebollado, culantro, lizano and caramelized onions

Arroz con leche, textures of grapes and almonds
